When I look back at significant periods in my life, my time traing with Martin comes pretty high up the list. It was only one year, but it was a year in which I grew in my faith, grew in confidence, and came to know myself better. Much of this was due to the leadership of that team and Martin in particular. I appreciated many things about his teaching. Firstly it opened my eyes to new ideas, new ways of thinking and new ways of doing things. Secondly, Martin is an incredibly authentic person, who believes in what he's saying and who is himself on a journey - exploring these ideas together was a lot of fun. And lastly, this teaching was never purely academic, in fact the best aspect of it was experiential; I was required to try things out, to test myself, and at times to learn by making mistakes. Together, these things made for a very positive and impactful learning experience.
